In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely accounting for the APAC region (Malaysia and Japan), including month-end closing and reporting to the Group. You will work closely with both regional stakeholders and the global finance team, including the Accounting Manager, Subsidiary Controller, and Group Controller based at our headquarters in Sweden.
Responsibilities:

· Ensure compliance with local statutory, tax, and reporting requirements (local GAAP)
· Manage full spectrum of AP and AR, including timely processing of invoices and payments

· Prepare cash flow forecasts and support the Site Manager in regional budgeting and forecasting activities
· Handle corporate tax submissions, statutory filings, and liaise with relevant authorities
· Act as the main point of contact for banks, auditors, and external partners; coordinate audits and year-end reporting
· Drive improvements in accuracy, efficiency, and financial processes.
· Collaborate with regional management and global finance teams on reporting and projects
· Support broader finance operations and act as a backup within the team when needed
Job requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
· 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in a regional or multi-entity environment or audit firm.
· Strong technical accounting knowledge with solid analytical skills
· Good understanding of Malaysian statutory requirements; exposure to Japan or APAC markets is an advantage
· Proficient in English, both written and spoken
· Able to explain financial concepts clearly and support non-finance stakeholders
· Detail-oriented, well-organized, and committed to delivering accurate work within deadlines
· Able to work independently and take full ownership of the finance function in APAC, while collaborating closely with the global finance and the regional back-office.
· Added Advantage: Basic Japanese reading skills sufficient to navigate Japanese online banking and administrative interfaces (e.g. entering and verifying bank payment details) for the Japan entity, with guidance from our local accounting partner.
